WEATHERIZATION INFORMATION

Low Income Weatherization Grants:

Electric heat in the City of Tacoma & all types of heat for areas outside Tacoma in Pierce County:

Tacoma Public Utilities and Pierce County Community Services are offering FREE winter weatherization programs for certain homes and families.  This is being done at NO COST to the tenant!

 If your total income meets the following guidelines, please call STEVE at (253)475-1884 ext. 101 to schedule an appointment to complete the weatherization application.   

  Why weatherize?

·        It will lower the utility bill on your home.  (Save you money!)

·        Your home will be quieter.

·        All opening windows will have new screens to keep the bugs out.

·        Your rent cannot be increased for at least 1 year after work is completed.

  Don’t wait!  Funding is limited and jobs are done on a first come basis until the money is gone!

Do you have gas heat & live in Tacoma? 

We are awaiting the information from Puget Sound Energy on a new program due out in January 2011

Outside of Tacoma/Pierce County?

Check with your local gas/electric company's energy conservation office for referrals on weatherization programs in your area.
